Riyadh: Saudi Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman has issued an important statement following the defense agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.


In a historic move, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif signed the Strategic Mutual Defense Agreement (SMDA), strengthening Saudi-Pakistan defense and security cooperation."



Under the clauses of this agreement, any external armed attack on one country will be considered an attack on both. The signing of this agreement reaffirms the deep bilateral relations and security cooperation between the two nations.


After this historic agreement, Saudi Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman issued a statement on the social media platform X.


Reposting the news of the defense pact signed yesterday, he wrote:

"Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, united in the face of aggression, always and forever."


Earlier, upon Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s aircraft entering Saudi airspace, Saudi F-15 fighter jets escorted his plane in a grand welcome.
