Severe weather in the UK has caused major disruption to air travel, with British Airways canceling dozens of flights and leaving thousands of passengers stranded.
British Airways has confirmed that more than 60 flights have been canceled, affecting thousands of travelers stuck at airports.
The canceled flights include routes to several cities such as London, Edinburgh, Newcastle, and Glasgow. Due to the adverse weather conditions, further delays and cancellations are also expected.
Passengers have faced significant difficulties as a result of the cancellations. Many complained that they were not informed in time, and overcrowding at airports created further problems.
The airline stated that it is providing affected passengers with alternative flights and hotel accommodation; however, it may take some time before the flight schedule is fully restored due to the severity of the weather.
Meteorologists have warned that in the coming days, heavy rain, strong winds, and other weather impacts could further disrupt the transport system.
