Luxembourg has decided to recognize Palestine as a state.
According to foreign news agencies, Luxembourg has decided to recognize Palestine as a state at the United Nations meeting later this month.
Luxembourg’s Prime Minister, Luc Frieden, said that in recent months the situation on the ground in Gaza has severely deteriorated, and a new global momentum is emerging in favor of a two-state solution.
The Prime Minister said that Luxembourg will be among those who recognize Palestine at the UN General Assembly session.
However, Prime Minister Luc Frieden and the Foreign Minister informed the parliamentary commission that the final decision will be announced after consultations with France, Belgium, and other countries.
It is worth noting that Luxembourg is not the first country in recent days to decide to recognize Palestine as a state.
Earlier, France, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, and Belgium had also decided to recognize Palestine as a state, and their formal announcement is expected later this month at the UN General Assembly.
